Join the Embankment Preservation Coalition on Sunday, October 25, 4-6pm, at Casa Colombo, 380 Monmouth Street, Jersey City, for our Annual Members Meeting.* We will update you on our work to strengthen connections with like-minded organizations and individuals from diverse disciplines who are concerned about the resiliency of urban communities and the environmental impacts of rapid growth in our city and surrounding region.
Over the past year, the Coalition has collaborated with partners across Jersey City and beyond - Jersey City Parks Coalition, Historic Jersey City & Harsimus Cemetery, Rutgers School of Landscape Architecture, Sustainable JC, and the Crossroads Committee - to generate talks and exhibits by diverse thinkers and presenters. These varied areas of inquiry directly relate to our goals for Embankment preservation. Common threads are: What ties community together? What is the long-view vision for sustainability for this city we call home?
Further exploring these themes, this year's guest speaker is urban planner Luke Schray of the Crossroads Committee, whose "A Geographer's View of Jersey City" program met with a standing-room-only crowd in May. Luke will describe the Crossroads initiative.
Join us and also enjoy a members-only preview of our new exhibit at Casa Colombo: Jersey City's Italian Village - Our Common Home. (Show opens officially in November.)
*Space limitations mean that we must give priority to active dues-paying members of the Coalition. Make sure to RSVP to email@example.com. We will check your membership status and let you know if you need to sign up or renew.
